The Global Majority Retreat program is designed to provide professional development, networking, support, information exchange and recognition to African Americans and Latino Americans who otherwise would not have the opportunity to see and speak to one another. The Global Majority Retreat (GMR) is a singular and special opportunity to speak to others who have first-hand knowledge of the joys and the pains of people of color and to discuss how to survive the isolation.

The Global Majority Retreat also welcomes those who are other than African Americans and Latino Americans to join the activities of the conference and join in the exchange and learning about the environments and the climates in which we all live and work. Over the years, the GMR has served as a means to re-energize, motivate and empower in order to make positive changes in and out of the workplace.

The event is sponsored by the Connecticut State University System, the University of Connecticut and the Connecticut Community College System.

For more information about the Global Majority Retreat or for proposal submission information, contact Victoria Thomas at 860-493-0071.
