IMPAC

Redline

The International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award is the world's largest literary prize, awarding £100,000 for a single work of fiction. Nominations are received by public libraries in major cities around the world, making the IMPAC Dublin Award one of the most internationally relevant prizes in literature.

The IMPAC–CSUS Young Writers program is a reflection of IMPAC Dublin designed specifically to encourage young writers and poets.  Awards are offered in a number of countries around the world, and right here in the state of Connecticut.

The universities of the Connecticut State University System - Central, Eastern, Southern and Western Connecticut State Universities - host the competition in Connecticut.

Young poets and writers in each of Connecticut's eight counties win $1,000 prizes, and proceed to represent their county in a statewide competition.  The top poet and writer selected by a distinguished panel of judges each year earn a trip to Dublin (with a parent) for the presentation of the International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award and related festivities.
